"Mr. Heitmann's trips
are everything one can imagine, no where else can you experience so
many sights, sounds, tastes, and cultures. I have been on three
separate trips with him (two while in high school and one while I
was in college) and each was better than the last. Mr. Heitmann only
uses hand-picked tour guides and is able to find the perfect mix of
guided tours and supervised free time. The only regret you could
possibly have is not taking advantage of these great opportunities.
I have since been back to Europe outside of the Ultimate Field Trips
and those trips didn't compete with the Ultimate Field Trip."

My son Kyle, my nephew Tyler, and I recently had the privilege of attending
the 2011 trip to Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. It was the experience of a
lifetime! Imagine exploring the Colosseum and the Forum, visiting the Vatican,
climbing El Duomo, seeing Michelangelo’s works in the Sistine Chapel and the
Academia Museum, enjoying a peaceful afternoon in Assisi then experiencing
modern Milan, cruising across Lake Lucerne on the way to scaling Mt. Pilatus,
then visiting our family’s homeland – all in 12 days! Traveling with a
well-organized tour group laid the groundwork for return visits on our own. The
best parts of traveling with Mr. Heitmann’s group include getting into
world-famous museums such as the Vatican museum and “The David” without waiting
in lines. Thanks to our experienced and very energetic tour guide, Karen, we got
to see so much in a short amount of time. The trip was the perfect mix of
immersing ourselves in the culture of Italy, then returning to nature to enjoy
the spectacular sights of Switzerland, then winding down with Germany’s mix of
culture and natural beauty. For my son, it was a chance to renew old friendships
and cultivate new ones, and open his eyes to a global world. After the trip, he
and Tyler both said they would definitely return to Europe and eventually study
abroad (did I mention that Heidelberg University is free?). One of the things I
was most impressed with was the behavior of the student travelers. They were
very respectful and well-mannered young adults. It was a pleasure to travel with
them. We truly became a family as the days progressed, and we came away with
memories that we will always treasure.

"The trips that Mr. Heitmann puts together are breathtaking and
unforgettable. The decision should not be whether or not to go, if allowed the
opportunity, but what trip to go on and when does it leave. For the parents, I
do not know a more reputable man to trust with your child in Europe. I will say
it now, and I'm sure anyone who has travelled with Mr. Heitmann will agree, that
these trips are worth taking and you will not regret being part of this great
experience."

"At 16 I already had the
travel bug and decided I wanted to visit Europe--despite the
reluctance of my parents! I saved up the money on my own (due to the
trip being organized for a school group, the cost was very
reasonable!), and traveled to France and England on a trip planned
by my former teacher. My parents were happy (with fears subdued) to
see the organization and effort that went into the creation of a
safe, enjoyable, educational experience. We had a knowledgeable tour
guide with us at all times--the trip was guided and narrated
throughout. "Free time" was allotted (of course, when you are 16 you
want free time!), but small groups were formed with very specific
meeting times and locations. The organization of the trip allowed
the students enough freedom to experience their surroundings without
jeopardizing their safety. It was a wonderful experience!"

"My son, Nicholas, just returned from the 2011 Ultimate Field Trip to Italy,
Switzerland and Germany. I most certainly had mixed emotions as the trip grew
closer. On one hand, I was extremely excited for him to experience such an
excursion, and on the other I was a nervous wreck for him to travel on his own.
Once he landed in Rome and I knew he arrived safely, I was so excited for him.
The tour diaries through the Explorica website was a Godsend. I was able to see
pictures of him every day and read about the day's events. He had the most
amazing time. I spoke to him two days before he was due to come home and asked
him if he was ready to come home and he said, "No, I love it here and I wish I
could stay longer." When I asked him how Switzerland was, he said
"breathtaking". I never heard my son use the word "breathtaking" before. Lol!
I'm so thankful that Mr. Heitmann invited him on this trip and that we were able
to send him. It was an experience of a lifetime and one that he will never
forget."

"My son,
Johnny Sullivan was privileged enough to be invited to go on the
2010 Italy, Austria, Czech Republic trip and what an awesome
educational experience it was for him. As a parent though, I was at
first nervous. However, I now would not hesitate to send my other
three children when their time comes should they be invited. Mr.
and Mrs. Heitmann treated my son as one of their own. That meant
many things for which I am grateful. They kept a watchful eye on
him but yet trusted him; they gave him guidelines and rules yet gave
him enough space to experience things for himself. Mr. Heitmann
conversed with each traveler individually
and as a group getting to know the kids on a personal level. All
kids need a mentor besides their parents and I am so thankful for
Mr. and Mrs. Heitmann for their "parenting, love and
friendship" and inviting my son on this trip of a lifetime."

"Thank you for putting together such a wonderful tour of Italy,
Switzerland, and France. Everything was planned out so well that
even first time travelers like Alex and I had little need for worry
through out the trip. Seeing the great masterpieces of Europe and
visiting the many historical places during our two weeks has truly
enhanced our appreciation of both art and history. Also being able
to travel with such a great group of students and adults made the
trip really enjoyable for the both of us. I'm so glad my younger son
will also be able to share this experience in 2011 with your Italy,

"I recently attended the “Ultimate Field Trip” to Italy,
Switzerland and France in August 2009. I found the trip to be,
without a doubt, the most phenomenal experience that I have ever
been apart of. Not only was I able to enjoy the many sights in the
foreign nations, but I was able to spend time with my friends and
one of the most exemplary individuals I know, Mr.Heitmann. I was
extremely fascinated by the arabesque architecture that is really
singular in the European countries. Being a proud Catholic, I
especially enjoyed the visit to the Vatican, which truly left an
impact on me. I highly recommend the “Ultimate Field Trip” to
everyone as it is absolutely an experience you will never forget."

"The Ultimate Field
Trip has left me speechless for the past few weeks, I am still
pondering and wondering about the amazing, beautiful artwork
displayed in each and every place we visited. Since seventh grade, I
have been waiting to experience life as an Italian, Austrian and a
Czech living in Prague. I was so excited for the longest time, I was
even packed like the month before, talk about being ready. I loved
everywhere we went and everything we experienced; it was all just so
unbelievable. The first three days, I had to keep telling myself I
was in Italy, it was like a dream, it was not even real to me. Being
able to walk the streets of Rome with my friends from school was
awesome and so much fun. Having the responsibility to be on my own
and watch my spending and such was such a great learning experience,
and it made me feel like an adult. The gelato, artwork, monuments,
churches, fountains and views of Italy is all non-comparable to
anything you might see in the United States. The gorgeous mountains,
crystals, and history of Austria is breathtaking. Even though we
were only in the Czech Republic for a day and a half, the Mozart concert,
hills, and castle of Prague was all incredible. When someone asks me
what my favorite part was, I can not begin to even decide just one
part, because the entire trip was just amazing. I give so much
credit to the courageous and brave Mr. Heitmann, who takes people into the mysterious lands of Europe. Congratulations
Mr. Heitmann, because this has been yet another wonderful experience
from you I will never ever forget! I have been so grateful to have
this opportunity of a lifetime. Luca! much thanks to Luca (our tour
director) as well
who equally helped make this experience such an unforgettable one. I
am already looking into accompanying you on another trip. If not
with you, (which is what I really want) then perhaps a semester of
college or with my own family. Thank you for everything Mr.

"St. Augustine said, “The world is a book and those who do not
travel read only one page.” If this is true, then traveling with Mr.
Heitmann will launch you many chapters into that book. Mr. Heitmann
goes way beyond himself in making sure everything goes smoothly, and
seeing that your time abroad exceeds your expectations. His trips
are jam packed full of good learning experiences, beautiful scenery,
amazing sites, and of course, great food! You'll make new friends,
learn a new language, and regardless of age, mature and change in
positive ways. Also, there is a great balance here between planned
activities and the free time you get to explore these places on your
own. Be prepared. This is not a vacation where you sleep in all day
at the hotel. You'll be on the move taking in as many sites and
experiences as possible. There is never a dull moment. Everything is
taken care of for you. You can put your mind at ease and just enjoy
the trip. To you young students out there, not everyone gets the
opportunity later in their adult life to travel abroad. If you can
travel now, don't hesitate. You'll have the time of your life. I
know I did. Mr. H is a great guy and I'm very glad to have shared
this experience with him and his family."

The Ultimate Field trip was by far one of the best experiences of
my life. The things that you see absolutely incredible, words can
not do these things any justice. The people that you go with become
your family, it may be a little bit dysfunctional at times, but you
all become closer at the end. So when the opportunity comes along
don't hesitate because it is a truly amazing experience. I can't
thank Mr. Heitmann and the rest of the Heitmann family for giving me
this opportunity and the wonderful memories that I will never
forget.

"I had the pleasure of going on two trips to Italy with Mr.
Heitmann and his tours. Both were absolutely amazing. The sights,
the culture and best of all the FOOD! were extraordinary. There is A
LOT packed in the schedule, kids are kept busy as to not be idle and
therefore get into trouble (Mr. H sees EVERYTHING by the way), but
still have plenty of time to relax and take in the scenery. Everyone
is constantly kept safe AND entertained. All the way around it is a
once in a lifetime opportunity that should be taken if at all
possible."

fantastic it was to have this once in a lifetime opportunity
available for the students and their families. I felt extremely
confident putting my son in the hands of Mr. Heitmann and the rest
of the fine people who accompany and assist him throughout the trip.
Mr. Heitmann has built up a wonderful relationship with all of the

encountered from this vacation. I highly recommend this stellar

"The trip itself was carefree and perfectly planned, you never had
to worry about anything more serious than "what do I wear today?" or
"what gelato should I get this time?" For a girl, of course, I
shopped but we also got to spend more time in places that were of
more interest to us, like the Trevi Fountain, Flea markets, racing
up the Spanish Steps, or looking for the bridge where Madonna shot
her "Like a Virgin" video. It was a perfect blend of scheduled
tours, meals, bus rides and wakeup calls; and having the free time
to just sit at a cafe, take a cliché picture holding up the leaning
tower of Pisa. Because of that trip, America is my country but Rome
became my hometown. I am very fortunate and hope to do it again!"

"The trip was really amazing, it was everything I was anticipating
for almost three years. Not only was it a learning experience that I
will never forget, but it was a growing experience. Having the
independence of being far from home helped me to mature a little
more than I expected. Overall, between the friendships I made, the
food I tasted, the places I've seen and the memories made, I highly
suggest this tour for a once in a lifetime experience."

detail of the trip is planned out for you so that nothing is missed.
I would never have gotten to experience and see so much if it wasn't
for the great trip itineraries and tour guides. Not to mention that
everything you could ever want to do is already included and so
affordable. If you have the chance to join a trip, don't pass it up!
It is truly a wonderful experience that you will not find anywhere

"In 2004 I went to Italy on a field trip with Mr. H's group.
I've been overseas before and after that trip, but never have I seen
so much in such a short period of time. The trips that are set up
are a great balance between sightseeing and downtime. The hardest
part of planning a trip is the balance between the two because you
want to get your money's worth as well as not being shuffled thought
a routine. Even though it's been 6 years since I have been on this
trip, it is one of the most memorable experiences of my life."
~Tom Ehrola

"The Italy 2004 trip was my second Ultimate Field Trip, and like
the first, it was an experience I will never forget. The food, the

alike. The 105 of us in attendance will forever be grateful."

Mr. Heitmann and his lovely family. Every detail of our journey was
perfectly planned. The tours, the meals, transportation and "free
time" were thoughtfully planned out and flawlessly executed. Every
aspect of the trip was a delight. Any parent debating or hesitating
about sending their child with Mr. Heitmann need not worry. He is

To Anyone Considering joining one of Mr. Heitmann's Ultimate Field
Trips:
"These trips are not called "ultimate" for any old reason; they are
the experience of a lifetime! I can truly say that many of my best
memories that I have had so far in high school took place on Mr.
Heitmann's 2009 trip to Italy, Switzerland, and France. The tours
are mapped out to a very interesting and educational daily
itinerary, encompassing the most beautiful and historical landmarks
in every country. Words can barely describe the "bang you get for
your buck" on one of the Ultimate Field Trips composed by Mr.
Heitmann. While on the trip, you don’t have to worry about saving
money to pay for breakfast, dinner, tour fees, etc. because they are
already included in the price. I know for me, it was the most
convenient to not have to worry about budgeting my money for our
daily activities, so I knew exactly how much i could a lot myself
each day for souvenirs, drinks, snacks etc. As well, a more then
generous amount of supervised free time is given daily, which enabled me to
appreciate the sites at my own pace. These trips are packed full
with excitement and really educate the travelers not only on the
history of the countries, but give a rich insight into the culture
abroad. I recommend anyone who is "on the fence" about joining one
of Mr. Heitmann's trips to do so without hesitation, because you
surely will not regret it!"
~Chelsea

Traveler - Ultimate Field Trip 2009: Italy/Switzerland/France
"I've had the pleasure of attending three Ultimate Field Trips with
Mr. Heitmann, the most recent of which was Germany and Austria.
Although being in the country and seeing the different cultures was
amazing, that was not my favorite part. While in college I was dorming in the international building which gave me the opportunity
to meet a lot of international students. I was able to have an
immediate bond with these students, who eventually became very close
friends of mine, because I was able to relate to them and talk about
some of my first hand experiences in their home country. Being a
part of the Ultimate Field Trips not only gave me life experiences
to look back on, but also gave me the chance to broaden my horizons
and give me insight into the type of culture my fellow students came
from. The only regret I have is being in romantic places, such as
Paris at night, and Venice, and not having that special person to
share it with (which will be changed soon enough!!!). I strongly
urge anyone who has the opportunity to attend to take advantage."

"These trips are seriously the trips of a lifetime! If I had the
money I would go on one each summer! The education you receive while
also vacationing is amazing! I went right after I graduated high
school to Italy and Greece, and it is a trip I will never forget. I
always find myself reminiscing with others I went on the trip with.
The sites you tour are absolutely breath-taking! While on this trip,
the only money you need to worry about spending is for lunch and for
souvenirs. Your breakfast, dinner, tour fees, etc. are all included
in the money you pay prior to this trip. The experience you get
highly outweighs the cost of the trip. There is much structured and
organized free time you get in each place you visit while you are on
the trip. However, although we had free time, I found myself
exploring many landmarks. Mr. Heitmann's Ultimate European Field
Trip's give excitement while educating you at the same time! If you
are one the fence about going, GO! DO NOT HESITATE! I would have
regretting not receiving the experience I did."
~Kaci
Brannick

"Going on this trip opened my eyes to so many things! I wish I was
able to go every single summer! I'm already trying to figure out
when I can go next!!! Even though you are on vacation, you are
getting a great education! Learning about the culture, the
buildings, and historic events/people was fun because of the way it
was taught! By going on this trip, I've been able to be a step ahead
in history classes when it comes to the places I visited on the
trips, and I have been able to share my experiences with others! I
always talk to others who went on the trip and we always laugh about
all of the MANY fantastic times we had! Having breakfast, dinner,
and tour fees already included into the trip was wonderful because I
could spend money on lunch and souvenirs! The cost is next to
nothing compared to all of the memories you leave with! You bond
with everyone who goes and you are always able to smile and wave at
the others who attended the trip. Mr. Heitmann's Ultimate Field
Trips make you learn, have fun, and have memories that will last a
lifetime. If you want to go, GO because it was the most wonderful
trip I have ever went on, and will probably be the best trip I will
ever go on!"
~Kelsey D'Andrea

"The Italy '04 group still talks about the trip as if it were
yesterday and consider it a great memory. Milan and Venice were a
lot of fun. Assisi was an unexpected bonus. The history in Rome was
amazing, and I think everyone on the trip fell in love with the city
of Florence. Not to mention the overall atmosphere of the tour, from
the Heitmann's to the nicest tour guides to, the 'free' time (which
is actually more supervised than we realized), the breakfasts and
Italian dinners that are provided, and of course the Gelato, going
to Italy was an unbelievable experience. That trip is unique and so
was the trip to to Germany-Austria. They were both great memories,
in different ways, though. Both trips offered a unique experience."

"In my opinion, it is hard to call this trip a "field trip." It is
a once in a life time experience that most of the people on this
planet will never get to enjoy. From seeing extravagant art in
Florence to learning about the new Czech Republic, it is all worth
it. It was almost as if it was a dream while I was there. Planning
for the trip, I did not not expect to see as many things as we did.
Most people would not understand what they're missing out on."

"As a parent, I was excited for my son to have the opportunity to
go to Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic, but also very nervous
about sending my child abroad. Europe is so far away! Of course, my
fears were baseless, and Mr. Heitmann, as well as Luca, the tour
director, kept careful watch over the travelers, with their safety
at the forefront. In fact, this trip was even changed from the
original destinations, as Mr. H. felt that it was not safe for them
to go to Morocco, due to civil unrest. My son even got sick on this
trip, which was very upsetting to me not being able to care for him
myself, but Mr. Heitmann called us to discuss his symptoms and
treatment and kept us updated on his temperature, how he was
feeling, what medications he took, etc. It really put my mind at
ease, and I would tell any other parent to rest assured that their
child will be in capable and caring hands if anything should
happen."

"Where to begin? Having the experience of going to Italy, Austria
and the Czech Republic has left me speechless! There is so much I
would love to say and explain about The Ultimate Field Trip when
people ask about my trip, but I can never find the perfect word to
describe the experience. From the historic buildings in Rome, the
detailed art in Florence (and shops), gorgeous churches in Vatican
City, amazing views from Assisi, our last Italian gelato in Verona,
landscaping in Innsbruck, the "Sound of Music" Tour in Salzburg, to
the Mozart Concert in Prague, how could this trip get any better?! I
remember after the first Europe trip meeting I started the countdown
on my phone to when I would leave for Europe. The day came so fast,
and I could still remember when the countdown had 400 days! When it
was finally time to say good-bye to Europe I remember thinking, wow.
Not many people will ever be able to see the things I saw and
experience something truly unforgettable! I have been blessed with
this opportunity to witness everything! If it wasn't for the
incredible/brave Mr. Heitmann, I may have never gotten another
chance to see the things I saw. Plus, being with an incredible group
of people and our tour guide Luca, made it all the more easier to
enjoy the trip. I am sure this will not be my last good-bye to
Europe's beauty, and I am already looking forward to hear about my

as well."

"Wow, talk
about the trip of a lifetime. This is something that I know that I,
as well as everyone else that was on the trip, will never forget.
Taking students on a "regular" field trip requires a lot of work on
the teachers part, let alone taking them to foreign countries. This
trip was really something extraordinary, and I know that I would
love to attend another one if possible in the future. Not only was
this an experience that not many other people you may know will ever
get to have, but it also taught me a lot about my culture, and where
my family all came from. The information I gained on this “trip of a
lifetime” will stick with me for many years to come. Thank you Mr.
Heitmann for giving me the experience of a lifetime."
